Be A Good Electrician!

Welcome to our website. Our team of electricians have designed this website to help you decide whether or not you want to be an electrician.
One of the very first decisions you must make, if you are interested in this particular skilled trade, is the KIND of electrician you want to be. Generally speaking there are three kinds: Power Maintenance Electrician, Construction and Maintenance Electrician and Industrial Electrician. We have included links in our website that describe the work performed by each of these electricians to help you decide.
The steps to becoming a licensed electrician vary from one jurisdiction to another. However, in most cases, you will be required to first serve a four or five year apprenticeship. As an Apprentice you will be working with a licensed electrician learning the practical skills of the trade. During various stages of your apprenticeship, you will also be required to attend trade school or college to take courses such as electrical theory, blueprint reading, etc. Upon completion of your on-the-job training and trade school training, you will be eligible to write the Certificate of Qualification Exam. If you pass the exam you become a licensed electrician!
The rewards for becoming a licensed electrician are many. There is good job security and it pays well. As for the work, there is a lot of job satisfaction knowing that the electrical installation you have just completed is safe, of good quality, met all the requirements of the Electrical Code or National Rules and passed testing and inspection. However, the best part - and something us electricians never tire of - is the satisfaction you get when you close the switch and the light turns on. It's a great feeling!
So, do you want to be an electrician? We believe our website contains all the information you need to decide.
